TRUE DELUSION
02:31
|
|||
What can you do when your delusions of grandeur are true?
You just trust in your own innate power,
and believe in the strength of your mind
What can you do when your delusions of grandeur are true?
You just trust your own perceptions
and believe in the strength of your eyes,
you just trust your own perceptions
and step into the light

BREAKDOWN LANE
02:09
|
|||
Parked in the breakdown lane of life
waiting for a truck to tow me away
watching the whooshing world blow by
on a frozen sunny day
with the windows closed
there's a desiccated rose on the dust caked dashboard
from over a year ago
tired of watching the whooshing world blow by
I rest my eyes and the day just dies
another day just dies another day just dies
another day just

FEELING SMALL
01:47
|
|||
In the moment that my warm breath
finished blowing out the candles
the blazing godlike finger of
expanded self-awareness poked
it's way down through the ceiling
into my home and touched my forehead
and now my self image is a puddle on the floor.
Destabilized and formless
I am afraid and feeling fragile
still clinging to the memory of
the confidence of ignorance
and feeling small

THE OTHER SIDE
01:38
|
|||
"The grass is always greener"
just means the other side also sucks
and both sides being equal
there's no need to covet much
and if you're still alive and breathing
it's cause you've always had enough.
So with your own grass gleaming greener
life is nice and when it's fucked
you see the chunks of gold
that disaster always churns up.
And if you're still alive and breathing
just look up and see the sun and smile thanks
and bend on down and pick em up

THE GOLDEN THREAD
01:56
|
|||
I lost track of the story
I dropped the golden thread
the little flash of light ahead
that tells me no dead end is dead.
Sitting in the dark,
knowing the daylight's always near,
knowing everything is golden
just stupid sad and bored to tears.
So glad I've got this soft dark place to lay,
waiting for the sun to shine inside me
on a sunny summer day.
Nothing's wrong

PRETTY GOOD DECISION
02:43
|
|||
Back when I was clearheaded,
I was aways scared of losing control,
I held myself in clenches
counting breaths just to settle my soul.
It didn't work too well
but I didn't wanna blur my world,
so I trudged along, alone,
sifting ashes and discovering pearls.
Then the world just ended
and eventually I took the leap,
letting go and getting high and chilling out
turned out to be a pretty good decision for me

OVER THE HILLS
02:26
|
|||
Got born again, now I feel old again,
I thought I'd stumbled somewhere true,
these days it feels like life's on hold again,
and I've traveled further than I knew,
over the hills and through the valleys
toward the shadow of death,
it's right over there,
scan the horizon man,
I feel ill prepared.
Over the hills again
over the hills again
over the hills again
